I'm Anne Temple, and my corner of the world is a canvas of vibrant, joyful hues. My work is a celebration of the beautiful, the fresh, and the cheerful - an elevation of moods and environments.

I embarked on this artistic journey a decade ago, a self-taught painter driven by an innate love for color. From childhood, I reveled in decorating the space around me, choosing colors that spoke to me and cultivating a sixth sense for design. Art history captured my heart during my time in Vienna, Austria, deepening my understanding of the craft. Yet it was a day spent painting in a studio with a dear friend that finally ignited my passion, making my brain come alive with possibilities, and setting me on the path to opening my own gallery featuring both my own work and works from respected local artists. 

Now based in Norfolk, I’m a mom to three grown sons and get to continue my love affair with color every day. My paintings are a tribute to the natural world and all that brings a smile to my face. With every stroke, I aim to convey not just the visual, but the emotive - to share the feeling of a moment captured on canvas, always with the hope of putting a smile on my viewers’ faces. I’ve been told that my works are vibrant yet soothing - an elevated fusion of lightness and fun mixed with depth and meaning.

Oil painting, my chosen medium, has been my faithful companion throughout my career, teaching me patience and the art of savoring the process. For me, the magic in each of my works happens at the end, when the last stroke finds its place and the painting is complete. It's a deeply personal moment, a communion between me and my creation where I can sit back and say “Ah. There it is.” My hope is that you say the very same thing when connecting with a piece of mine that happens to be exactly what is missing in your home or your work space…a feeling of familiarity and a dual sense of both lightness and depth.

It has been my dream come true to see my creations gracing the spaces of boutiques, galleries, and homes - and I look forward to continuing to make joyful, fresh, and playful art that elevates moods and spaces for years to come.
